소식 대만 AUO: 마이크로 LED 패널 출하 중

대만 디스플레이 업체인 AUO가 스마트워치용 마이크로 발광다이오드(LED) 패널을 출하하고 있다고 밝혔다.

AUO는 이달 진행된 1분기 콘퍼런스콜에서 “특정 회사가 개발을 포기하면서 마이크로 LED에 대한 의구심이 제기되기도 했지만, 연구개발(R&D) 철회가 마이크로 LED 자체를 도입하지 않겠다는 뜻은 아니다”라며 회사의 양산 사실을 알렸다.

AUO가 언급한 특정 회사는 애플이다. 애플이 마이크로 LED 애플워치 프로젝트를 취소하면서 업계에서는 마이크로 LED 디스플레이에 대한 우려가 대두됐다.
